Been playing for 7 years, and not to be a downer, but it feels like the game is trending toward adding characters with narrow, almost meaningless roles that don’t justify their presence in gameplay. General Bjorn Ironside was one of the earliest examples—he even has his own exclusive currency that’s unreachable unless you spend heavily. Seeing someone with a level 50, 80, or 110 Bjorn usually means their real-world bank account took the hit.
On top of that, Bjorn is more myth than history, which makes his inclusion odd in a game centered on real people, places, and artifacts from different eras. BHG has shown creativity before—like giving “tanks” to old-world generals at higher upgrade levels which is fine—but commanders feel detached from any real historical context other than their satiric medieval look, have no real story or explanation, and seem built more for cosmetic customization than meaningful gameplay impact.
