Greetings Leaders,


DomiNations update 12.21 is rolling out very soon! It’s a huge update that gives tons for you to explore! First, we’ll talk about the new Multiplayer mode ‘Strike’, a new challenge that truly tests your mettle against foes within your Age. Multiple fixes for Alliance Requests arrive in this update too! Two Councilors are being introduced here, and a few more minor tweaks. Read on for full details!


Strike


A brand new challenge arrives with Strike. This mode will be a way to really explore just how strong your strategies are against an opponent at the same Age as you. Strikes offer you chances to attack with an extended preview for you to plan your attack.


When attempting a Strike, you’ll be matched only with a player at the same Age as yourself who has logged in within the last 30 days. The matchmaking will ignore Medal count, Peace Treaties, and you won’t be able to search for a next match. Each base you match up against will challenge you to obtain as many stars as you can to progress toward a coveted Strike Chest. You’ll find the Strike option in the same place that you would the Campaign and Multiplayer options.

  • Players receive 3 Strikes each day, each allowing you to make a Strike Attack.
    • You will not be able to ‘bank’ strike attempts
    • After using all three Strikes, you can add more by watching a video ad (up to two more attempts)

  • Main Hall Museums and Councilors are utilized in Strikes.
  • Blessings cannot be used.
    • Currently active blessings will not be consumed and will be hidden with each strike.
  • Defending bases will always have all Traps armed, all defensive buildings active (even if under construction), and deploy Generals.
    • You will not need to re-arm Traps or re-train Generals.
  • Defending bases will also deploy donated Alliance Troops (if any exist).
    • Donated Troops will not be lost (Donated Troops used on offense will still be lost, however).
  • Defending Bases will NOT lose resources from a Strike Attack.
    • Attackers will generate resources from their attacks without taking from these defending bases.
  • Failing to defend against a Strike Attack will NOT activate a Peace Treaty.
  • Medals are not won or lost from Strike Attacks.

You’ll have up to 5 minutes to preview the Base you’ve been paired with for the challenge. Your goal is to obtain all 5 victory stars! Collecting these stars will grant you the opportunity to obtain a Strike Chest. These chests differ from traditional Victory Chests in that they offer rewards based on your current Age. You even have a chance to obtain both Crowns and Legendary Tokens!

  • Strike Chests will function like other chests; there won’t be a choice in one of three rewards like Victory Chests.
  • If you successfully defend and deny all 5 Victory Stars when you are attacked in a Strike, you are awarded 50x Crowns, claimable in your Defense History!

Increased Video Retrain
With the addition of Strike, we’re also increasing the total video retrains available from 1 to 3 per day.
  • These video retrains are separate from Strike.

Alliance Request Fixes
We’re finally ready to release our Alliance Request fixes! This has been a long time coming and we understand the difficulties in putting up with Alliance Requests disappearing from your Alliance Chats, especially when it comes to Troop Donation requests. We’ve essentially restructured how these requests are sent on the backend to create a much more consistent communication between you, the player, and the DomiNations game server.

These fixes address the following:
  • Research Speed Up requests disappearing before all assists have been used.
  • Troop Donation requests disappearing before hitting capacity and before timer runs out.
  • If a communication error occurs when making a Donation/Speed Up Request the request doesn’t get posted to Alliance chat.
    • You will then be able to attempt to make another request.
  • Chat Troop donation functionality will be temporarily unavailable between 8/29 and 9/3.

New Councilors


Update 12.21 introduces two new Councilors for you to look forward to!


Kong Qiu (Confucius) (Scholar)


In spite of his humble beginnings, he immersed himself in the ancient traditions and by his 20s he had gained a reputation for his teachings, which emphasized righteousness and proper conduct. Seeking a way to bring harmony back to his fractured world, Confucius spent decades of his career in politics and eventually rose to the position of Minister of Crime for the state of Lu.


As a teacher, Confucius drew on his lived experiences and spoke not of conquest or gold, but of conduct. He firmly believed that rulers should lead with virtue, that families were the bedrock of society, and that common rituals could unite people across class and time.


Though he never held great power, Confucius left behind a philosophy stronger than any titles. Long after his death, his teachings were adopted as state philosophy under the Han Dynasty. Over centuries, his ideas shaped civil service exams, schools, family structures, and statecraft—not just in China, but in Korea, Vietnam, and Japan. To this day, Confucius is remembered as a man who sought no throne, but ended up guiding emperors.


As your Councilor, Kong Qiu drastically improves the quantity of resources harvested from your Farms in the Primary Hall (up to 40%!!). In your War Hall Kong Qiu adds even more with increased Tower Damage & Sniper Tower Damage. Kong Qiu will arrive starting 9/8.

Johannes Gutenberg (Revolutionary)

Spend Legendary Tokens on Store Offerings
You may have noticed that there is no updated Legendary Calendar for the month of September. That’s because Update 12.21 brings almost the entire collection of Legendary Artifacts to the store for Legendary Tokens! These deals expand your Legendary Artifact selection beyond what even Marco could make available, so stock up and fill those Showcases. While the Legendary Artifacts won’t be available right at launch, you can expect the new store options to arrive mid to late September!

You’ll want to check out your Inbox more frequently as we’ll be introducing rewards for certain links and messages! You just might find a Crown reward for following special links coming from us!


Additional Updates
  • Fixed an issue where a new Manufactory under construction would be indestructible in battles, preventing the Complete Destruction Medal.
  • Fixed the issue where the Quest Event Goals would disappear when cycling through multiple quest events in the same session.
  • Corrected an issue where specific SpeedUps would fail to apply when used with Autofill.
  • Some Localization and graphical corrections.
 
The concern is people are losing a prospective 15 hours per day in speed-ups for things that require citizens to complete - most of us consider that rather important.
They will always grow, as they did in the past before speedups existed.:p
 
Why am I not reading about this anywhere? The new Strike mode doesn’t work for me, does it work for you? I send a Strike and until now, three days later I have been able to have just one attack. The rest of tries end in “ no adversary found” and it takes one try away…I end with the 1 add x 1 Strike….same “no adversary found”. Try lost but I had an add to swallow..is this happening to you too?

Resources are free, the game is free, and speed-ups are free. Playing with absurd bugs that ruin attacks in multiplayer and world war mode would be a serious bug, not speed-ups. You'll grow more slowly during the year, but you'll grow in the end. I don't see what the big deal is.

If you lose a multiplayer match due to a bug, just start the next one.
If you lose a war, just wait 48 hours and you can fight again.

You might not climb the rankings as quickly because of the bugs, but you'll still climb in the long run. I don't see what the big deal is. :p

The Advisor & Discount lists are getting worse and more inaccurate, both in terms of time and cost.

For example, the list for a level 5 cannon tower shows 9 hours 1 minute. The upgrade window shows 7 hours 51 minutes. However, the timer starts at 7 hours 46 minutes. 3 different times for one building!!!

Second example: According to Advisor, a level 5 farm requires 4000 gold while a level 3 garrison requires 16,000. However, in upgrade window, costs for both are reduced to 0.

This can be misleading, especially for small accounts. The Advisor displays costs in red, as if there aren't enough resources, but the actual costs are affordable.

oh , your reasoning is definitely better than mine :confused:. It's amazing that everything is free in this game, isn't it 👻:p
 
The base area appears to have been expanded. The third and fourth spaces at the edge are available. Please note the green frame; items can be placed there legally. The same applies to square 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, etc. along the edge.

Well fix balance lol my patience and I understanding is long gone can we even get a member of staff to say when it will be addressed. All we hear is we are evaluating it and monitoring. Well it’s been long enough fix it

See if you can actually address it since engineers chat mods and rest are not able to comment which bull doo doo
 
Die Einführung von Strikes ist eine positive Entwicklung, da sie allen Spielern in den höchsten Ordensklassen wieder Spielmöglichkeiten bietet. Manche meiner Allianzmitglieder finden nämlich ab 4.000 Orden gar keine Gegner mehr und konnten deshalb gar nicht an Events teilnehmen. Es wäre aber besser, wenn man 3 zusätzliche Strikes mittels Videobelohnung bekommen würde, statt nur 2.
Sonst aber eine sehr gute Entwicklung 👍🏽
 
Yesterday, I left Alliance A and joined Alliance B. Yet today, more than 24 hours and several logins later, I'm still seeing A's chat. Not just their old messages, but also the most recent ones. The correct icon and correct name are displayed above the chat, but the content is incorrect.

Hello….is it still the case? I have been able to launch 3 Strikes since the beginning….i insist with the customer service, they replenish my Strikes just to lose them again because “no opponent was found”. It’s really frustrating and it’s making me lose the valuable chests. I don’t know what else to do….
 
Yeah it's happening with everyone they replenish them to get again lost

Can anyone feel gemini gloves defender movement speed isn't working. I feel pompus comb have better affect , I mean 20% in main hall looks far more fast that 31% from war hall.

I will appreciate if somebody test it and confirm me , I will be happy if found wrong.
 
It's only a minor visual flaw, but your sorting is poor.
  • “Mask of Tutankhamun” is sorted under T in the shop, of course, but “Mask of Agamemnon” is under M, not A. In the showcase, both are under M.
  • “6th Anniversary Shooter” is listed under S in the sale, but in the showcase it's at the front because of the number at the beginning.
A little more consistency would be nice.
 
@Harlems369 are museums taken into account when getting matched up with opponents Or is it any random base in your age?

Can anyone attest that before this update, troops belong to a Detachment will be assigned to their respective detachments upon retraining after donation? I feel like it was the case before this update but now, donated troops don't get automatically assigned to their previous when retraining. I could be misremembering here.
