Greetings Leaders,

Welcome to our first DomiNations Forum AMA session! Over the next two hours we’ll open this forum thread to any questions that you may have regarding our future roadmap for the game. To participate in the AMA make sure that your questions follow these guidelines:
  • The AMA session will last for two hours. We will get to as many questions as we can within that time, but not all questions may be answered.
    • We will answer on a first come first serve basis.
  • Questions must relate to the topic of Future playable content within DomiNations.
    • Any questions outside of this topic (Bugs, Balance, etc.) may be saved for a potential future AMA, but will not be answered here.
To get started, we’ll share what we have in the pipeline for DomiNations in the near future.



Replays
Replays have been a longstanding issue in the game, and we redoubled our efforts to fix them. We’ve created a new internal testing framework to help identify the causes of replay issues. This has already resulted in some major fixes that are making their way through our QA team now. While these fixes have tested very well internally and are set to come out soon, they won’t solve all of our findings, but this first set of fixes will create a substantial start!

As we expand our test cases, we will continue to fix issues as they arise. Our goal is to have as many fixes as possible released with or before our upcoming Tournament of Glory release. We’ve developed a new system that will do better at detecting the desyncs in replays, which can cause things like Forest Defenders spawning in areas that don’t match the attacker’s point of view, or more than possible Air Troops to appear in a replay. We are also in a much better position to identify and stay on top of replay accuracy issues in the future!

New Feature: Detachments
Real-time battles are at the very core of what makes DomiNations fun, but have you ever wished you had more control over your troops and generals after you deployed them? Over the past 9+ years, we have greatly expanded what players can do in battle, but for the 10th anniversary, we are planning to give attackers of all Ages a powerful new way to organize, deploy, and rally groups of troops and Generals in battle. We call them Detachments.
  • Players may build up to three detachments using their army’s barracks/factory troops and generals
  • When a detachment is deployed in battle, all generals and troops in that detachment are rapidly deployed in that location (similar to how Mercenaries are deployed)
  • During a battle, a deployed detachment may be rallied separately from the rest of the player’s army
We have been sharing our prototypes with long-term players to gather feedback and ensure that Detachments best meet the needs of the DomiNations community. We can’t wait to share this feature with even more of you!

Upcoming Manufactory Changes
Manufactory is one of our newer features and one that we are extremely excited to expand upon in the future. We have many plans for Manufactory not only for the Ages that currently get to interact with it but also into the future for Robotics Age and beyond.

We have some big plans in store for the future of crafting in DomiNations, but we aren’t quite ready to officially announce any of that just yet. Rest assured though, the Manufactory will continue to improve and expand with new features and exciting opportunities for you to craft and personalize your Base and Troops in the future.

Future World War Fixes
World War is a feature that we plan to pay very close attention to over the next year, first with our huge new feature in the form of Tournament of Glory. These new competitive Leaderboards are for you and your Alliance to rise through the ranks. The goal is to not only become the best Alliance in DomiNations but also earn some incredible exclusive rewards.

We are also aware of some of the issues some Alliances often have with Matchmaking in World War and are hard at work on gathering data to make improvements to the Matchmaking system and to ensure World War is as fun and balanced as possible for all of your alliances.



This is just the tip of the iceberg for what you can look forward to as we head into 2025. We hope that these small reveals have given you a great starting point for today’s AMA. We now open the floor to you to ask questions, and members of the Development team will be sharing their answers!

1. Do you guys have any intention to add alliance speed up for Blacksmith upgrades?
2. Is there any plan for another set of Wonders? Considering that Automation Age could have had a set but it didn't

When will a Battle Report that shows everything that is used in War Battle going to happen this is only way we will knowing if battle are legit. I don’t trust any replay I mainly care about knowing 100% of what hit my base in war is accurate. Then when I report I know something will happen

The scope that you are describing here is not the same as what I was expecting, or what I think we all expected on the Dominations Prime forum. I have some playability issues and suggestions that seem important IMHO. I will post some/all of them here in the hopes that they are looked at in due time.

Domination – AMA – 2024

# Bugs)

1) University Alliance Speed / Troop Alliance donation disappears from alliance chat box as soon as you log off.

2) Museums are experiencing loadout issues on World War server. The player can see all of their gear that is assigned to one self, but the Domination Server doesn’t register the gear as being equipped. Do the programmers know what is causing this issue? – Phantom loadout seems to trigger often, if you don’t unassigned all your gear before leaving an alliance and possibly due to Friendly Challenges during World War being active.

3) There are odd glitches where troops get stuck on the bastions and just move in one spot and never change positions.

4) Random glitches with deployment on the edge of the map – Sometimes a player gets an invalid deployment spot on an area that looks to be clear for a drop. This same issue applies to planes too.

5) Can we please fix the healing units attempting to heal the drone? - dili123

6) the event banner glitches on the main screen and gets stuck during battle. Only time to remove it is by resetting the game. Can programmers look into this issue?
It hinders the player base when it gets stuck during battle and being unable to see the playing field.

[1.] NTG rework --> Raiding for enough NTGs to place my coalitions has become excessively time-consuming and tedious, even for frequent raiders. I don't know what has changed, but over the past 3 months, I am spend more hours on this than I ever have before. I have 5 active accounts at VIP levels 6 to 8. I have stopped playing one of these and restricted my group of three that play together so that only two will join a war, the third stays dormant. I am seriously consider retiring a second of the now-4 active accounts. This is entirely because of the time cost of NTGs. Simplest solution, increase NTG storage in the storehouse to 100, or increase storehouse storage by 10 each storehouse level increase.

Hello everyone, what are your thoughts on the PC version in terms of controlling the troops? It's not so optimal with the mouse. The new feature will certainly help - but surely there's more to it?

One issue alot of us would like addressed is to Rebalance game so Defense is not so Over powered maybe a new Offensive related library branch or parliament branch to compensate for D one and/or make army bigger or troops take up less space…etc. its gotten too hard. we have top O players not even able to take a D player with no defensive coalitions posted for example. any plans to help the Offensove players out?

[2.] Let me see who donated troops to me. Inappropriate donations can be very divisive. Some players donate weak troops deliberately as pranks to irritate members of the war team. --> Simplest, but not fully satisfactory solution: Leave the notification (who gave me what) up for much longer. This is just for donated troops, not for speedups. Allow the receiving user to dismiss the notification rather than leaving it displayed for the full period

Thank you for hosting this AMA for us to get some of our ideas out and concerns throughout the years - We have posted a collection of questions to the idea forums as we know there is limited time in this AMA.

Questions - Can we see an overhaul of factory troops in the future - Maybe a reduction in troop space for Heavy Tanks and other troops to make them more viable in end game content now for war.

Perhaps it's time to give Factory troops unique attacks and synergies for our troops?

I was hoping to start seeing general tab in manufactory that provide temporarily buffs to generals or unique buffs to certain troops. Maybe paratroopers planes fly faster for first 5 seconds or Heavy Tanks shoot 3 shots at once every 5 attack with certain munitions.

[3.] Accurate list of units who attacked your base. Simplest way to achieve this: limit to 1 the number of identical troop tactics allowed on an attack. For example, instead of attacking with 4 Tupolevs, a player who wants to attack with 4 bombers would have to attack with 1 Tupolev and 1 each of 3 other bombers. You might have to create a few more TTs that are functionally equivalent (or similar) to each other, but you would never be confused by how many are possible on the map.

The university alliance speed up disappearing when you log out is bad. You took crowns (aka real money) and haven't fixed this in what years now? Have you all discussed just changing the assists to auto decrement the time? Beyond that, have you considered creating new troops for any upcoming ages to change the gameplay? Like the heavy tank meta of old I'm tired of the mortar meta of the new and would like to see the gameplay vary but not as often as the seasons. I can't max level a troop in 6 weeks so I end up just having to eat it. Look aheads that tell of upcoming changes would help with that.
