Greetings Leaders,

Robotics Age is on its way to DomiNations, and new Building and troop Upgrades will arrive with it, as expected! Along with these upgrades, though, there is also a new feature for you to interact with. Similar to the Drone Command being introduced alongside the Drone Age, and the Manufactory coming with the Automation Age, Commanders will be coming with the Robotics Age as a new way to customize your battles.

We don’t want to give everything away just yet, but we can share some details now. More information will be available in our 13.0 Patch Notes later this month!

Develop Your Commanders
Starting from the Medieval Age, Commanders will be found in your existing Fort. You will be able to raise your Commanders to Level 100 by using a new Manufactory Component called Modules. Commanders will have the unique ability to be deployed offensively and defensively, even while they are being upgraded!

In Battle
Commanders will be powerful units that can change the tide of battle with unique attributes.
  • Commanders can be assigned to Detachments; they give passive benefits when assigned to the Leader position.
  • Two Commanders, Ripley & Eradicator, will be available from the time of the Robotics Age’s launch:
    • Ripley
      • Will be available starting in the Medieval Age
      • Is a slow-moving Melee Range attacker with high Health
      • Deals a cone of Melee Damage in front of itself
      • Deals Bonus Damage to Defenders, Generals, Heavy Tanks, and Commanders
    • Eradicator
      • Will be available in Robotics Age, after the Fort is upgraded to level 13
      • Can fire BOTH of its weapons while moving and rotating
      • More information on this Commander will be revealed next week! Keep an eye on DomiNations' social media accounts!

Commander Customization
Make Commanders your own with various customization options! Each Commander will have specific pieces that you can change to create a look unique to you! You’ll be able to:
  • Change the name of your Commander
  • Equip Commanders with unique Skins & Shaders
    • You can mix and match parts from your different Commander Skins with four customization slots.
    • You can change the color of your Commanders and their different Skins with Shaders!
    • Besides in-battle, your customization will also be visible in the pre-battle screen for both World Wars and Strike!
We can’t wait to see how you develop your Commanders, and what unique styles you’ll bring to DomiNations as they hit the battlefield. In post-13.0 updates, we’ll be adding even more customization options to Commanders, allowing you to personalize these troops even further.

Our full reveal of Commanders & Robotics Age will appear in our DomiNations Update 13.0 notes later this month. In the meantime, let us know what you think about the potential of Commanders, and what type of customization options you would like to see!

Sounds great, but I would have liked the customization to go beyond skins and looks.

For example, I would have liked to be able to equip them with different weapons depending on the battle. Maybe also the ability to equip them with different gear that boosts different stats such as an armor to increase their hp or boots that increase their movement speed etc..

Also, I believe it would have made more sense for Commanders to spawn from the Command Post along with the onetime special unit spawn, not the fort which already spawns 3 generals and machine gunners.

But anyway, I believe this is going to be a great update. Thanks for your hard work and maybe consider these ideas for the future.

@Harlems369th

I kind of wanted you give some feedback with the news. I’m really hoping there more to commanders than just the changing of skins and leveling them up via the Manufactory.

I was pretty happy about this potential new units as I figure you might provide aura buffs for defensive and offensive bases.

But going from the information so far provides they both seem like a general 2.0 and we can now have up to 3 Gen on the field and 2 commanders. 4 Gen for Defender with Pentagon.

I know your team can do this mechanic as Ferdinand Foch provide the aura.

Harlem - please tell me commanders do more than just act like generals 2.0. Just say there more. We aren’t sharing the new abilities yet! :(

My hopes are crushed if this is it. Custom Skins and 2 new units that will act like generals.

Thanks for the information. But I am truly bummed.

this mechanic feels like a second manufactory is needed😁.

also this makes generals feel more redundant. will these modules apply to our castle generals and able to modify our generals like the commanders in the future?

Customisable commanders with interesting bonuses sound good and I’m not normally negative but is it me or is the aesthetic completely off from the rest of dominations. I don’t play clash of clans for a reason.
the way ripley looks.

i'd like it if ripley had the same move and art style as the others

In your Road Ahead 2025, you mentioned that Commanders “will even give bonuses to your Detachments to make them all the more potent.”

I understood that to mean Commanders will give sort of a buff (e.g. increased damage, hit points, speed etc..) to the troops around them. Did I get that right? Is that still happening?

May I ask if the commander only has pictograms of medieval European knights? Do commanders of Eastern civilization also need to use this image of commander?

I don't think they took geography into account - I think the design is simply a 'Clash' of ideas ...

I've seen many posts asking for the Generals to have boosts and auras but the devs would rather waste time and money on a brand new unit that looks like its borrowed from another game. What a waste.
Why not inject life into existing Generals?

I also find it strange that we have general and now commander ? who also spawn on the Fort like the generals

- The colors and skins are good
- If Eriducator can attack air units that would be really cool
- As I said above, animation and design completely different from the entire game
- A commander is as big as a house ? It is also 3 the size of a normal unit ? The proportions are totaly wrong
- It would have been cool if these had come as normal units, especially the Eriducator
- Will he always remain a knight, or will he transform into a tank at level 50+? It would be weird if a knight fight in the robot age.
